Job Purpose:

The job invigilator is responsible for ensuring the smooth conduct of examinations and maintaining the integrity of the assessment process.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring students to ensure that there is no malpractice during the assessments.
  • Distributing answer booklets and exams papers to the students.
  • Ensuring that assessments conditions are always adhered to and meet the policy requirements.
  • Preparing the assessment venues to ensure that it meets requirements.
  • Providing support where necessary should an emergency arise e.g, sick student, fire evacuation.
  • Answering any queries that a student may have during the assessments.
  • Provide a detailed and clear report at the end of each session.
  • Responsible for safeguarding the safety and integrity of the assessment instrument.
  • Monitoring the students during the assessments to ensure no irregularities takes place.
  • Ensure that only relevant students have access to the venue during the assessments.
  • Check to ensure that students who are in the venue are met academic conditions for writing the assessment. 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric (NQF Level 4)
  • Higher certificate (NQF Level 5)/ Diploma (NQF Level 6) would be advantageous.
  • At least 1-2 years in the industry.
  • No criminal record

  • Knowledge and understanding of the South African higher education systems and regulatory framework.

  • Ability to effectively cope with change.
  • Deadline orientated and can work well under pressure.
  • Be able to work in a team environment.
  • Effective communication skills

Working Hours

The suitable candidate will be required to work on Saturdays.
