About the Role
We are seeking a Retail Shop Assistant with expertise in tools and machinery to join our team in Boksburg. In this customer-focused role, you will be responsible for assisting customers with their purchases, offering expert advice on product selection, and ensuring a well-organised shopping environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding customer service, addressing inquiries and assisting customers in selecting the right tools and machinery for their needs.
- Maintain product knowledge to effectively communicate features and benefits, helping customers make informed purchasing decisions.
- Manage inventory, ensuring shelves are well-stocked, organized, and visually appealing to enhance the shopping experience.
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale system.
- Assist with the setup of promotions and merchandising displays to drive sales and encourage customer engagement.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth shop operations, including stocktaking and replenishment.
- Stay updated on industry trends and new products to provide knowledgeable recommendations to customers.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe shopping environment for customers and staff.
Requirements
- Matric or equivalent qualification.
- Proven track record in retail or customer service, preferably within the tools and machinery sector.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and inventory counts.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Demonstrable experience with inventory management and stock control processes.
Having technical knowledge in the DIY Tools or Hardware environment would be an absolute added advantage. The ideal candidates should be confident, as well as reliable and honest and be able to function as team players.
Additional detail:
- Salary: Negotiable with Benefits available
- Working Hours: Monday – Friday 08:00 – 17:00 and Saturdays 08:00 – 13:00
