About the Cleaner Position
The successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining designated areas within the factory environment, with a strong focus on the waste area and surrounding spaces.
This position requires someone who can follow instructions, work safely, and complete cleaning duties with accuracy and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
The Cleaner will be expected to perform the following duties:
- Sweep floors using brooms and keep work areas clean
- Clean drains and ensure the surrounding areas are neat
- Set up pallets when required
- Move waste bins from the factory to the waste area
- Dispose of waste in the correct containers
- Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping in the waste area
- Remove weeds, debris, and other waste from immediate surroundings
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
- Ensure assigned tasks are completed thoroughly and accurately
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Grade 8 / Standard 6
- NQF Level 1 or below
- Good communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to work in a factory or manufacturing environment
- Physically fit and able to perform manual cleaning tasks
Physical Requirements
The role may require the successful candidate to:
- Walk and stand for long periods
- Reach, grasp, push, and pull objects
- Bend repeatedly while performing cleaning duties
- Perform repetitive arm movements
- Move waste bins and assist with general housekeeping tasks
