Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Grade 10, Grade 11, Grade 12 or equivalent NQF Level 3–5 qualification
- Good verbal communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team
- Willingness to work shifts when required
- Hospital environment experience will be an added advantage
- Laundry experience will be an added advantage
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be expected to perform general laundry and linen support duties at the hospital. Responsibilities include:
- Collecting and distributing linen to hospital wards
- Handling soiled and bloodied linen safely
- Sluicing dirty linen where required
- Packing dirty linen into laundry bags
- Loading linen bags onto trucks for washing at Masakhane
- Offloading and unpacking clean linen from the service provider
- Assisting with linen stocktaking every quarter
- Working overtime or additional hours when needed
- Supporting the department by going the extra mile when required
