The Office of the Chief Justice is inviting applications for a Food Service Aid position based at the Land Court in Randburg. The successful candidate will be required to sign a performance agreement.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • NQF Level 01 or 02 qualification
  • ABET Level 02 certificate or equivalent qualification
  • Previous experience in a hospitality environment will be an added advantage

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing food service and catering support at the Land Court. Duties include:

  • Cleaning kitchen utensils and equipment
  • Providing catering support services
  • Keeping stock of kitchen utensils and equipment
  • Applying hygiene and safety measures
  • Maintaining quality control of all food provided
  • Removing and disposing of kitchen waste
  • Preparing food, snacks and beverages such as water, tea, coffee, milk, sugar and cold drinks
  • Setting up and transporting crockery, cutlery and equipment to dining areas
  • Serving food and beverages
  • Washing dishes
  • Monitoring food supplies and reporting waste or losses
  • Packing supplies received in food storage areas
  • Ensuring equipment is serviceable and reporting defects or shortages
  • Setting tables, including decoration
  • Ensuring only authorised personnel access the kitchen or consume meals
  • Applying safety measures in the work environment
  • Following control measures and standard operating procedures
