About the Diageo Apprenticeship 2026
Diageo is searching for candidates who would like to obtain practical work exposure in the Supply Chain and Manufacturing department with their apprenticeship. The Diageo Apprenticeship Programme provides aspiring professionals with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience within one of the world’s leading beverage companies. As part of Diageo’s Supply Chain and Manufacturing division, apprentices become involved in a dynamic and highly coordinated operation responsible for sourcing raw materials, producing high-quality products, and delivering globally recognized brands to consumers around the world.

Through the apprenticeship, participants are exposed to the practical aspects of industrial maintenance and electrical engineering within a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) production environment. Apprentices work alongside experienced maintenance personnel and qualified electricians, gaining valuable insight into the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems, automated machinery, and production equipment. This hands-on learning experience allows participants to develop technical expertise while applying classroom knowledge in a real-world setting.

You will be required to perform the duties below:

  • Assist qualified electricians in carrying out the maintenance, servicing, and repair of production machinery to ensure optimal operational performance and reliability
  • Support the installation, inspection, and upkeep of electrical components, including motors, sensors, conveyor systems, and control panels used in manufacturing processes
  • Help identify, diagnose, and resolve electrical faults and equipment malfunctions to minimize disruptions to production activities
  • Participate in preventive maintenance activities on electrical and automated systems to improve equipment efficiency and reduce the likelihood of unexpected failures
  • Provide support to the maintenance team during equipment breakdowns and emergency repairs to help restore operations and minimize production downtime
  • Assist with the maintenance and operation of PLC panels, variable speed drives, and other industrial control systems used in automated manufacturing environments
  • Read, interpret, and apply information from electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics to support installation and maintenance tasks
  • Support the testing and inspection of electrical circuits, systems, and equipment using appropriate diagnostic and testing instruments to verify performance and safety
  • Ensure that all tasks are carried out in compliance with workplace health, safety, and food-safety standards to maintain a safe and regulated factory environment
  • Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked work areas by properly managing tools, equipment, and spare parts to promote efficiency and workplace safety.
