Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12, NQF Level 4 or an equivalent qualification.
- Computer literacy, especially MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint where required.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Planning, organising and general administration skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good interpersonal, problem-solving and attention-to-detail skills.
Depending on the post, exposure to office administration, technical environments, logistics, media centre work, graphic design, digital photography, Adobe applications, CorelDraw, Photoshop, procurement or petty cash processes may be an added advantage.
Duties and Responsibilities
Successful applicants will assist with general administration and clerical support within SA Navy units. Duties may include:
- Performing routine office administration duties.
- Handling correspondence, documents, registers and filing systems.
- Managing incoming and outgoing mail, calls and general enquiries.
- Capturing, updating and maintaining records and databases.
- Assisting with training administration, certificates and qualification records.
- Managing job cards, reports, work statistics and office documentation.
- Supporting procurement, petty cash, stationery and office supply processes.
- Assisting with meeting arrangements, typing and secretarial duties.
- Handling confidential or classified information according to official procedures.
- Supporting media, publication, printing, archiving and training-material production where required.
