AFGRI is inviting unemployed youth to apply for Apprenticeship Programme 2024 / 2025.

AFGRI is offering an exciting Apprenticeship Training Program across various branches in South Africa. This opportunity is for dynamic, self-motivated individuals who aspire to qualify as Tractor or Earthmoving Mechanics. The program spans three years of in-service training, including both practical training and academic development.
Program Overview:
- Duration: 3 years, with a 6-month probation period.
- Qualification: Tractor or Earthmoving Mechanic.
- Training: Includes practical training, distance learning, and product-specific training at the John Deere Training Facility and other internal training programs.
- Contract: Apprentices will be bound by a contract with AFGRI, with penalties for early withdrawal or failure to complete the apprenticeship within four years.
Duties:
- Train as a Mechanic/Technician.
- Repair and maintain relevant equipment.
- Handle stock control.
- Provide customer service.
- Perform general workplace tasks.
Minimum Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Communication, Admin, and Computer Skills.
- N2 subjects, including:
- Mathematics
- Engineering Science
- Diesel Trade Theory
- One additional subject (e.g., Industrial Electronics, Engineering/Technical Drawing, or Motor Trade Theory).
- Alternatively, a Matric Certificate with relevant subjects (e.g., Mathematics, Technical Mathematics, Physical Science, or Engineering Graphics and Design).
Behavioral Competencies:
- Highly motivated and goal-oriented.
- Attention to detail.
- Team player with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
General Guidelines:
