Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- A Grade 12 certificate at NQF Level 4.
- Typing as a subject or another relevant training course or qualification that will enable them to perform the required duties.
- Knowledge or experience in general office administration.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will provide secretarial, receptionist and clerical support to the relevant manager.

Secretarial and receptionist support
The Secretary / Office Assistant will answer incoming telephone calls and direct callers to the appropriate officials when the matter is not intended for the relevant manager.
The appointed candidate will also assist with the daily coordination of the manager’s office and ensure that administrative matters are handled professionally.
Clerical support
The successful applicant will provide general clerical and administrative support to the manager. This may include preparing documents, organising office information and assisting with routine administrative processes.
Travel arrangements
The candidate will communicate with travel agencies to arrange official travel. They will also check travel documents and confirm that the arrangements received are correct.
Policies and procedures
The appointed candidate must remain informed about the policies, procedures and prescripts relevant to the position.
They will be expected to study applicable Public Service and departmental policies to ensure that these requirements are properly understood and applied in the workplace.
