Spar Position Overview

As a Shop Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring customers receive outstanding service while promoting products in your department. Your efforts will directly contribute to maintaining SPAR’s high standards in retail excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Your role as a Shop Assistant will include:

Hygiene, Safety, and Housekeeping

• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Adhere to hygiene and safety protocols.

Customer Service

• Provide friendly, professional, and efficient service to customers.
• Assist with inquiries and offer product recommendations.

Stock Control

• Monitor inventory and ensure shelves are stocked.
• Check product quality and freshness in line with SPAR standards.

Point of Sale (POS) and Pricing

• Operate the POS system accurately and efficiently.
• Ensure all products are correctly priced and labeled.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify, you must have:

• Matric Certificate or NQF Level 4 equivalent.
• At least 1 year of Counter Sales experience in Fresh Food departments.
• A proactive and customer-oriented mindset.
