Job Description
As an Admin Assistant, your primary role will be to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data within the store. You will be responsible for implementing Best Operating Practices in store accounting, ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately captured and reconciled. Your work will directly contribute to the production of accurate trial balances and financial reports.
Key Performance Areas
- Bank Reconciliations: Daily reconciliation of bank account ledgers and cash-ups.
- Supplier Account Reconciliation: Weekly reconciliation of Drop Shipment and DC Warehouse supplier accounts.
- General Ledger Maintenance: Regular maintenance of general ledger accounts.
- Sales Reporting: Balancing and reporting on daily sales to ensure financial accuracy.
- Month-End Reporting: Ensuring timely and accurate completion of balance sheet reconciliations for month-end reporting.
- Journal Entries: Capturing and reviewing journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.
- Supervision: Overseeing the store admin team to ensure smooth operations.
- Document Management: Managing and controlling document management systems to ensure compliance.
- Fixed Asset Management: Maintaining and updating fixed asset registers.
- Finance Projects: Supporting various ad hoc finance projects to drive continuous improvement.
- Payment Management: Managing payment submissions to ensure timely processing.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Matric with Accounting and Mathematics.
- Qualifications: A related tertiary qualification (or studying towards one) is preferred.
- Experience: At least 3 years of relevant experience in the FMCG sector.
- Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Assertiveness with strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, meeting timelines and deadlines.
- Intermediate Excel skills are mandatory.
- SAP experience is advantageous.
- Experience with EasyAcc is required.
