What This Job Is All About
As a Laundry Attendant, your main responsibility is to make sure all hotel linen and guest laundry is clean, fresh, and well-presented.
This includes washing, ironing, folding, and organizing items like bed sheets, towels, and guest clothes. You will also help manage the laundry area and sometimes assist with housekeeping duties.

Your Daily Duties and Responsibilities
Laundry and Linen Duties
- Sort, wash, dry, iron, and fold laundry items
- Handle guest laundry carefully and return it correctly
- Make sure all linen is clean and in good condition
- Count and record all laundry items received and sent out
Linen and Stock Control
- Issue clean linen to housekeeping staff on time
- Check linen quality regularly and report damages
- Keep track of stock and report shortages
- Assist with counting supplies and amenities
Laundry Room Management
- Keep the laundry area clean and organized
- Make sure all machines are working properly
- Report any broken equipment to management
Staff Uniform Management
- Issue uniforms to staff
- Manage cleaning and returning of uniforms
- Keep records of uniform distribution
Health, Safety, and Cleanliness
- Follow all safety rules when handling chemicals and equipment
- Report any safety risks or problems immediately
- Maintain high hygiene standards at all times
Extra Duties
- Help housekeeping with room checks when needed
- Respond to guest service requests quickly
- Assist with general cleaning tasks when required
What You Need to Apply
To qualify for this position, you should meet the following:
Education
- Grade 12 (Matric) or National Certificate
Skills and Qualities
- Good communication skills (speaking and writing)
