About the MRTT Data Building & Civil Construction and Mixed Farming Systems Learnership 2026-2027
Mpumalanga Regional Training Trust (MRTT) is inviting unemployed youth from the Pixley Ka Isaka Seme Local Municipality to apply for its 2026-2027 Learnership Programme in Building & Civil Construction and Mixed Farming Systems. The programme is designed for young people between the ages of 18 and 35 and will run for a duration of 12 months starting from 8 June 2026.
The learnership programme will provide training opportunities to 66 beneficiaries from the local municipality areas of Wakkerstroom, Volksrust, and Amersfoort. Participants will receive practical and theoretical training aligned with accredited NQF programmes aimed at improving workplace readiness and technical skills.
The available learnership opportunities are listed below:
- Building and Civil Construction NQF Level 3 – Painting
Venue: Wakkerstroom Community Hall
Number of Learners: 22 - Building and Civil Construction NQF Level 3 – Carpentry
Venue: Volksrust Community Hall
Number of Learners: 22 - Mixed Farming Systems NQF Level 2 – Plant and Animal Production
Venue: Amersfoort Community Hall
Number of Learners: 22

The programme specifically targets youth residing within the identified municipal areas and aims to provide skills development opportunities that can improve future employment prospects within the construction and agricultural sectors.
Learnership Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Must be between 18 and 35 years old
- Must reside within Pixley Ka Isaka Seme Local Municipality
- Minimum educational requirement is Grade 11
- Must submit a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Certified copy of South African ID Document
- Certified copies of academic qualifications
- Proof of Residence must be provided.
