Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for keeping the office environment clean, safe, and presentable. Main duties include:

  • Providing cleaning services inside and outside the office
  • Ensuring general hygiene in the workplace
  • Creating a clean and conducive environment for officials and clients
  • Serving tea, juice, and other refreshments during meetings
  • Prioritising daily cleaning tasks
  • Keeping cleaning equipment clean and in good working condition
  • Taking care of household and gardening equipment
  • Safekeeping crockery and cutlery used in the kitchen
  • Reporting defects in the workplace to the immediate supervisor
  • Keeping a register of cleaning materials distributed

This position plays an important role in supporting the daily operations of the Department of Social Development by ensuring that offices remain clean, organised, and welcoming.
