The Gauteng Department of Health is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for a Stores Assistant vacancy at Tshwane District Health Services.
This entry-level government position is suitable for applicants with Grade 10, Standard 8 or an ABET Level 4 certificate. The successful candidate will support the Supply Chain Management Directorate by receiving, packing, storing and dispatching stock and assets.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have one of the following:
- Grade 10

Duties and Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be responsible for receiving and packing stock or assets delivered by suppliers.
Other responsibilities will include:
- Removing stock from shelves and placing it on pallets
- Dispatching stock and assets to different areas within the hospital
- Keeping shelves and storage areas clean, organised and safe
- Reporting damaged, missing or neglected stock to the supervisor
- Assisting with the collection of stock and assets from hospital units
- Collecting stock from service providers and other institutions when required
- Managing documents used when receiving and issuing stock
- Ensuring that stock records and supporting documents are properly maintained
- Complying with Occupational Health and Safety requirements in the warehouse
- Rotating between the Warehouse and Assets sections
- Following the approved rotation roster
- Working overtime when operational needs arise
- Attending training sessions, meetings and development activities
- Participating in performance contracting, quarterly reviews and final assessments
- Carrying out lawful and reasonable instructions from supervisors or line managers
