Learnership Opportunities by Operation
PMR
PMR has four opportunities available: one Fitter, one Boilermaker, one Electrician and one Instrument Mechanician learnership.
BMR

Minimum Requirements
Applicants can qualify through different educational pathways.
Candidates with Matric or Technical Matric must have Mathematics, not Mathematical Literacy, Physical Science and English, with a minimum pass mark of 40% in each required subject.
Applicants may alternatively have N2 or higher, provided their subjects meet the requirements of the engineering trade they are applying for.
An appropriate NCV Level 4 qualification may also be accepted where all the required subjects have been passed with at least 40%.
Trade-Specific N2 Requirements
Boilermaker: Applicants should have subjects such as Plating and Structural Steelwork or Welders Theory, Plating Structural and Steelwork Drawings, Mathematics and Engineering Science.
Millwright: Relevant subjects include Electrical Trade Theory, Electrotechnology or Electrotechnics, Fitting Trade Theory or Mechanotechnology, Industrial Electronics or Engineering Drawings, Mathematics and Engineering Science.
Electrician: Applicants should have Electrical Trade Theory, Electrotechnology or Electrotechnics, Industrial Electronics or Engineering Drawings, Mathematics and Engineering Science.
Mechanical Fitter: Relevant subjects include Fitting Trade Theory, Mechanotechnology or Mechanotechnics, Engineering Drawings or Draughting, Mathematics and Engineering Science.
Instrument Mechanician: Applicants should have Instrument Trade Theory or Industrial Instrument, Industrial Electronics, Mathematics and Engineering Science.
