Valterra Platinum is currently accepting applications for its Engineering Learnership Programme (18.2 – Unemployed). The programme delivers structured training that combines both off-the-job learning and on-site workplace experience. Upon successful completion, participants will earn a nationally recognized Artisan qualification.

Eligibility Criteria

The Valterra Platinum Engineering Learnerships Eligibility Criteria are as follows:

• Obtain a Matric certificate with Mathematics (not Mathematics Literacy), Physical Science, and English, achieving a minimum of 40% in each subject
• Complete N2 or higher with passes in all four (4) required subjects, including Mathematics and Engineering Science, in accordance with the specific discipline requirements below:
  • Pass Plating/Welders Theory and Plating Structural & Steelwork Drawings for the Boilermaker discipline
  • Pass Electrical Trade Theory and Industrial Electronics or Engineering Drawings for the Electrical discipline
  • Pass Diesel or Motor Trade Theory and Engineering Drawings for the Diesel Mechanic discipline
  • Pass Fitting Trade Theory and Engineering Drawings for the Mechanical Fitter discipline
  • Pass Instrument Trade Theory and Industrial Electronics for the Instrument Mechanician discipline
  • Pass Motor Electrical Trade Theory and Industrial Electronics for the Auto Electrician discipline
  • Pass Electrical Trade Theory, Fitting Trade Theory, and Engineering Drawings or Industrial Electronics for the Millwright discipline
  • Pass Rigger Trade Theory and Engineering Theory for the Rigger discipline
  • Pass Diesel or Motor Trade Theory and Engineering Drawings for the Heavy Equipment Mechanic discipline
• Complete NCV Level 4 in the appropriate trade and pass all subjects with a minimum of 40%.
