Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have a Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification at NQF Level 4, as recognised by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).

Applicants should also have a three-year National Diploma in a Legal qualification or equivalent qualification at NQF Level 6 with 360 credits, as recognised by SAQA.

No previous work experience is required.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The successful Registrar’s Clerk will provide clerical and administrative support within the court.

Court Administration and Filing

The Registrar’s Clerk will be responsible for registering and allocating case numbers to pleadings and other court documents received.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring that files and documents have been served on the relevant parties
  • Preparing files for litigants and attorneys
  • Updating files with returns of service or proof of service
  • Safekeeping court records
  • Disposing of case records according to applicable procedures

Handling Court File Requests

The successful candidate will retrieve requested files and make them available to authorised requesters.

R237 453 – R279 708 per annum at Salary Level 05.
