Minimum Requirements
Applicants should have a Grade 10 qualification or equivalent and must be able to read and write.
Candidates should also be prepared to work under pressure and be available for day and night shifts, including public holidays. Employees may be required to rotate between different work areas when necessary.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Successful candidates will help maintain a clean, hygienic and safe environment throughout Kopanong Hospital.
Main duties will include:
- Cleaning bathrooms, showers and toilets
- Cleaning hospital wards and departments
- Cleaning passages and waiting areas
- Dusting and washing surfaces
- Scrubbing and polishing floors
- Cleaning walls, windows, stairs and fire escapes
- Cleaning hospital equipment as required
- Washing and disinfecting refuse bins
- Removing general and medical waste
- Following the applicable Health Care Waste Management Policy
- Operating heavy-duty cleaning machines
- Cleaning ward kitchens in line with infection prevention and control requirements
- Rotating between different work areas when instructed
- Performing other cleaning duties assigned by the supervisor
Because the position is based in a healthcare facility, cleaners are expected to follow strict hygiene, infection prevention and waste-management procedures.
