Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Must be able to provide documentary proof of citizenship when required.
- Must be in possession of ABET Level 4, Grade 9, Standard 7 or NQF Level 1 qualification recognised by SAQA.
- Must be proficient in English and at least one other official language.
- Must be able to read and write.
- Must have basic literacy, numeracy and communication skills.
- Must be able to interact professionally with officials.
- Must be willing to work extended hours when required.
Knowledge and Skills Needed
Successful applicants should have basic knowledge and understanding of:
- Handling cleaning detergents safely.
- Occupational Health and Safety procedures.
- Food service support duties.

Duties and Responsibilities
Food Service Aids will be responsible for supporting food service operations at SAPS academies. Duties include:
- Preparing and serving refreshments.
- Rendering food service support functions.
- Preparing meals when required.
- Cleaning kitchen equipment.
- Preparing dining halls.
- Maintaining a clean and hygienic working environment.
This role is important because SAPS training academies require clean, organised and hygienic dining facilities for trainees, staff and officials.
