About the Western Cape Mobility Department Student Cadet Traffic Officer Bursary 2026
Western Cape is searching for applicants who would like to obtain a full-time bursary to financial aid their studies as a Student Cadet Trafic Officer. The Western Cape Mobility Department is recruiting Student Cadet Traffic Officers to complete a Further Education and Training Certificate in Road Traffic Law Enforcement through a bursary program. This structured training programme will run for twelve (12) months, commencing on 08 June 2026 at the Gene Louw Traffic College (GLTC) in Brackenfell.

Selected candidates will be trained to enforce road traffic, public passenger, and transport legislation, while also carrying out visible traffic control and policing duties to support crime prevention initiatives. In addition, they will be expected to perform a range of administrative tasks and related responsibilities associated with law enforcement operations.

Throughout the programme, candidates will be required to comply with the terms and conditions outlined in a signed 12-month contract. This includes participation in practical deployments and the ability to work on a 24/7 shift system when required as part of their training and operational experience.
