Where You Will Be Working
This position is based at Shingwedzi Research Camp, located inside the Kruger National Park. This means you will be working in a natural environment surrounded by wildlife and beautiful landscapes.
It’s not a typical office job. Every day will be different, and you will spend most of your time outdoors.
What This Job Is About
As a Technical General Worker, your main role is to help maintain the camp and keep everything in good condition. This includes taking care of gardens, buildings, tools, and equipment.
You will be responsible for making sure the camp stays clean, safe, and well-maintained for staff and visitors.
Your Daily Duties
In this role, you will be expected to handle a variety of tasks, including:
- Maintaining gardens and outdoor areas, including brush cutting
- Doing general landscaping and keeping the environment neat
- Repairing and maintaining buildings, fences, roads, and water systems
- Performing basic electrical, plumbing, welding, and carpentry tasks
- Painting buildings and structures when needed
- Cleaning camp areas, including fireplaces, braai areas, and surroundings
- Removing rubbish and keeping the camp clean at all times
- Cleaning and maintaining vehicles, tools, and machinery
- Assisting with inventory checks and stock counting
- Helping collect supplies when required
- Reporting major maintenance problems to the supervisor
- Assisting with general cleaning of accommodation when needed
This job requires someone who is hands-on and ready to work in different areas.
What You Need to Apply
To qualify for this job, you must meet the following requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent
- 1–2 years of maintenance or practical work experience
- Brush cutter certificate or competency
- Valid driver’s licence
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
You should also have basic knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

- Ability to operate machinery and tools
- Strong time management skills
- A responsible and disciplined attitude
- Ability to work independently without supervision
You must also be physically fit, as the job involves lifting, bending, standing for long hours, and outdoor work.

Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position ranges from:
- R138,690.74 to R182,902.28 per year
