About the Role

Anglo American has an exciting opportunity for a Repairs Officer within the Supply Chain department.
The purpose of this role is to execute purchasing transactions for on-site and off-site equipment repairs, ensuring repairs are completed on time, within budget, and in line with agreed technical and service standards.

Key Responsibilities

Supply Chain & Purchasing

  • Issue repair estimate instructions to suppliers
  • Compile documentation for removal of equipment for repair
  • Evaluate repair estimates in consultation with maintenance teams
  • Convert approved estimates into repair orders on SAP
  • Execute warranty claims with suppliers
  • Expedite and follow up on repair orders

Performance & Delivery

  • Adhere to Supply Chain strategies, budgets, and performance targets
  • Support an agile and adaptive Supply Chain approach
  • Ensure accuracy to prevent rework and invoice discrepancies

Risk, Governance & Compliance

  • Conduct regular risk assessments and escalate issues
  • Ensure compliance with Supply Chain governance, policies, and legislation
  • Apply Contractor Performance Management standards

Stakeholder & Supplier Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
  • Monitor supplier performance and manage queries
  • Escalate critical supplier issues when necessary

Sustainability & Community Support

  • Manage scrapping of uneconomical repair items
  • Support sustainable value creation initiatives
  • Assist with inclusive procurement and supplier development initiatives

People & Teamwork

  • Drive personal performance and continuous learning
  • Support diversity and inclusion within the team
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across functions

Reporting Line

  • Reports to: Section Manager – Purchasing Repairs
  • Level: Band 7/8 (C5)

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

  • Grade 12
  • Relevant Supply Chain / Purchasing / Procurement / Logistics qualification (NQF Level 5)
  • Valid South African Driver’s Licence

Experience & Technical Skills

  • 3–5 years’ experience in a related procurement or supply chain role
  • Strong understanding of transactional procurement processes
  • Proficiency in SAP Purchasing modules
  • Knowledge of supply chain systems and process compliance monitoring
