Eligibility Criteria
In order to be eligible for the AECI Electrical Apprenticeship, you must satisfy all of the requirements listed below. These criteria are designed to enable the selection committee to gauge the potential of each candidate and evaluate them fairly. Meeting all of these requirements is strongly advised to increase your chances of being accepted. Failing to meet these criteria may result in your application being unsuccessful.
The AECI (African Explosives and Chemical Industries) Electrical Apprenticeship Eligibility Criteria are as follows:
1. Basic Qualifications
- Complete a minimum of Grade 12 education and obtain a post-matric qualification (N3 Electrical)
- Develop basic awareness of the SANS 10142 wiring code
- Familiarize yourself with Merseta apprenticeship requirements
- Demonstrate computer literacy
- Gain basic awareness of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSAct)
- Demonstrate strong report writing skills
- Work independently and collaboratively within a team, and meet deadlines effectively.
