As a Butchery General Assistant at SPAR, you’ll help with the everyday tasks in the butchery department. Your job is important in making sure our customers get top-quality products and great service. You’ll assist with preparing meat, keeping the area clean, and helping customers.


What you’ll do

This is a list of tasks that you will be responsible for doing on your days at work.

  • Help with cutting, trimming, and packaging meat products according to the standards and guidelines.
  • Ensure the butchery area is kept clean and sanitary by regularly cleaning equipment, surfaces, and floors.
  • Keep track of inventory, restock shelves, and notify the supervisor of any shortages or issues.
  • Provide friendly and helpful service to customers, answering questions, and offering assistance as needed.
  • Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations to ensure the highest quality products.
  • Assist with labeling and pricing of products accurately.
  • Help with receiving and inspecting deliveries to ensure quality and accuracy.
