Senior/Leading Fire Fighter

Fidelity Services Group is seeking a skilled Senior/Leading Fire Fighter to join its Fire Solutions division in Pretoria Central. The role involves responding to fire-related incidents, conducting emergency rescue operations, providing medical care, fire prevention, and training activities. The successful candidate will also be responsible for operating and maintaining firefighting equipment and ensuring the protection of lives and property.

Key Responsibilities
- Respond to fires, rescues, hazardous substance incidents, and related emergencies.
- Extricate casualties, provide resuscitation, and deliver basic medical care.
- Operate firefighting and rescue equipment effectively and safely.
- Conduct fire prevention duties and safety inspections.
- Participate in drills, training exercises, and physical fitness activities.
- Train employees on firefighting theory and practice.
- Drive and operate specialised firefighting vehicles.
- Maintain firefighting equipment and ensure operational readiness.
- Complete incident reports, administrative routines, and occurrence logs.
- Enforce compliance with health, safety, and fire protection policies.
- Assist in fire and safety training, inspections, and life safety education.
- Undertake supervisory and personnel-related responsibilities as required.
Requirements
- Grade 12 qualification (minimum).
- IFSAC Accredited and NFPA 1001 Firefighter II certification.
- 2–3 years of relevant firefighting experience.
- Valid Code C1 driver’s license with PrDP (advanced driving advantageous).
- Medically and physically fit.
- Knowledge of fire chemistry, fire prevention, and firefighting systems.
- Hazmat knowledge and experience (essential).
- First Aid Level 1–3 and EMT certification.
- Clear criminal record.
- Strong communication, administration, and interpersonal skills.
