Sealed Air is seeking for applicants who are in need of an opportunity to obtain practical work abilities and skills with their apprenticeship programme. The Sealed Air Apprenticeship involves collaborating closely with the Technical Service Team within the Service and Applications department, where you’ll provide comprehensive technical support. Your responsibilities will include assisting the technical team with a range of tasks, such as:

• Install specialized packaging systems equipment in industrial packaging markets, as well as in food and consumer products manufacturing and processing facilities across Southern Africa
• Provide technical services for planned maintenance on all customer equipment, with the possibility of working on weekends and after hours
• Troubleshoot and address any equipment breakdowns as they occur
• Engage in extensive technical liaison with customers, offering advisory and diagnostic support across a wide range of technical personnel
• Manage spare parts ordering, including handling all necessary documentation and quotations/pricing for parts and services
• Conduct stock takes and maintain control over spare parts inventory
• Ensure that critical spare parts are consistently available
• Generate technical service reports to identify deviations and initiate necessary corrective actions
• Prioritize customer satisfaction at all times
• Maintain positive cost coverage to ensure efficient resource use
• Foster collaboration and develop solutions with strategic partners, including service technicians and external customers.

The Sealed Air Apprenticeship Eligibility Criteria are as follows:

• Obtain a recognized technical qualification as an Electrician or Artisan, or be in the process of completing it
• Leverage knowledge of mechanics, pneumatics, and PLC experience to gain an advantage
• Gain experience in a related industry to enhance your candidacy
• Hold a valid Code 08 driver’s license and a valid South African passport
• Demonstrate high levels of energy and technical problem-solving capabilities

• Prioritize work tasks efficiently
• Be prepared to work overtime and on weekends when necessary.
