Job Summary

As a blockman, Pick n Pay requires you to have the skills of cutting meat with being cautious at higher level. This position only requires you to have matric.

Minimum duties and responsibilities

• Report any defective equipment or utensils to the butchery manager
• Prepare and break various meat carcasses according to laid down specifications
• De-boning all cuts of meat and manufacture mince or produce sausages and boerewors.
• Percentage wastage or shrinkage or damages
• Check temperatures and monitor or maintain the cold chain
• Provide the required product or services and handle customers in a courteous and businesslike manner

Skills and other competencies

• Able to work in cold environment
• Physically fit and able to lift carcasses
• Able to cut, manufacture or produce various meat products
• Develop self
• Good communication skills

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12
• Reside near the Hypermarket
• Clear criminal record
• South African citizen
