Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have a Grade 12 certificate and relevant experience.
Although a tertiary qualification is not listed as a compulsory requirement, candidates who have a three-year National Diploma or Degree in one of the following fields will have an added advantage:
- Library Science
- Information Science
- An equivalent qualification at NQF Level 6 recognised by the South African Qualifications Authority

Library Assistant Duties and Responsibilities
The appointed Library Assistant will help provide library and information services to the Judiciary, internal employees and external clients.

Providing library and information services
The Library Assistant will support users who need access to library resources, publications and information. This may involve assisting clients in locating relevant materials and providing general guidance on available library services.
Managing the circulation desk
The successful candidate will provide an efficient and effective circulation desk service. This includes supporting the issuing, returning and administration of library materials.
Receiving library publications
The Library Assistant will receive and verify publications delivered to the library. Publications must be checked to ensure that the correct materials have been received and that records are accurate.
Processing and updating publications
The successful candidate will process new library publications and update the relevant library records or information systems. Accuracy will be important when capturing, organising and maintaining publication information.
Shortlisted Candidates Must Complete a Practical Assessment
All shortlisted candidates will be required to undertake a pre-entry practical exercise.
