REQUIREMENTS :

Minimum requirements: Basic literacy and numeracy skills. Experience: Appropriate knowledge and experience in cleaning and waste management in a hospital/health environment. Inherent requirements of the job: The Physical ability to lift heavy objects. Valid driver’s licence. Competencies (knowledge/skills): Good communication skills. Knowledge of collection of waste, waste handling, waste segregation and waste disposal. Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety and Infection Control policies.

DUTIES :

Provide a clean, safe and hygienic environment in terms of standards and procedures to prevent spread of infection and injuries which includes sweeping, scrubbing, mopping floors, dusting, emptying bins, and cleaning windows. Ensure effective control and management of general waste and medical waste. Ensure daily waste collections of general and medical waste using waste trolleys and GG vehicles. Ensure effective use of cleaning equipment, cleaning machinery and cleaning material in a cost-effective manner. Provide general support to the Supervisor.
