Broll Property Group is seeking a dedicated Handyman to join our team at Willow Way Shopping Centre in Pretoria. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting maintenance checks, repairs, and inspections to ensure the premises remain in optimal condition. This hands-on role requires attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repairs
- Conduct regular inspections of buildings and surrounding areas to identify maintenance issues
- Respond to tenant maintenance requests and tasks from the building supervisor or regional manager
- Inspect and repair doors, lighting, toilet fittings, and fire equipment
- Monitor equipment such as air conditioning units, water pumps, tanks, and water features
- Report and escalate unresolved repairs to the supervisor
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Follow all safety regulations and company procedures
- Participate in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) inspections and reporting
- Ensure all maintenance work complies with legal and safety standards
Tenant Support & Installations
- Assist with tenant installations and verify condition of premises before tenant occupation
- Conduct quality control checks and assist with partition removal/relocation if needed
- Support tenants and respond to service complaints promptly
Administrative Duties
- Keep accurate maintenance records, work orders, material usage logs, and equipment updates
- Maintain communication with the building supervisor and submit reports as needed
- Assist with supply orders and maintain awareness of emergency contact procedures
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Certification
- Grade 10 (Standard Eight)
- Additional training in maintenance/repair procedures is advantageous
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in general maintenance or handyman work
Skills & Knowledge
- Understanding of basic maintenance functions, tools, and safety procedures
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Excellent attention to detail and coordination
- Able to work independently and within a team

- Keep accurate documentation and logs
- Communicate and cooperate with tenants, building staff, and management
