✅ Who Can Apply?

To qualify for this exciting opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:

Minimum Education: Grade 11 or an equivalent NQF qualification
Driver’s License: Code 08 or 10 is required
Certificates: Must have an MQA Competency B Certificate, including relevant operating licenses and training
Experience: 1–3 years of experience working in a trackless mining environment
Language: Must be able to speak English clearly and understand instructions; knowledge of any other official South African language is a plus
Citizenship: You must be a legal South African citizen
Criminal Record: Must be clean
Medical: You need to be declared medically fit by the company’s Occupational Health Practitioner (OHP)

⚒️ What Will You Do?

As an Operator for the Manitou machine, your responsibilities are key to the daily operations of the mine. Here’s what you’ll be doing:

Work a rotation of shifts as scheduled
Operate the Manitou machine safely and efficiently
Help with maintenance tasks during your shift, including checking oil, lubrication, and fuel
Use the Manitou for carrying and transporting heavy equipment, installing pipes (ventilation and water), and more—often at high altitudes
Always check the level of your machine to make sure it’s operating properly
Report any machine faults or issues to your Supervisor or Control Room immediately
Follow all instructions from your Supervisor, especially when working in potentially dangerous zones
Keep your work area clean and meet mine safety standards
Follow MHSA rules and stick to Gold One’s safety motto:
“Nothing is so important that it cannot be done safely.”
