Job Overview

The Department of Health is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Finance Clerk to join the Finance Directorate at Jubilee District Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for revenue collection, cashier duties, debt management, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with public sector financial regulations.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification
  • Qualification in Finance Management
  • 18 months relevant experience in Financial Management (Public Service experience will be advantageous)
  • Valid driver’s licence (advantageous)

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect revenue from patients and stakeholders according to UPFS and government regulations
  • Submit daily cash collections to the Main Cashier
  • Issue receipts through the PAAB System and TPH208 during downtime
  • Capture receipts on SAP
  • Maintain cash-up handover registers
  • Conduct debt management and follow-up on outstanding patient accounts
  • Manage and safeguard financial documents and batch control records
  • Monitor compliance with accounting procedures and controls
  • Ensure correct allocation of revenue and expenditure
  • Generate BAS and financial reports
  • Verify and correct patient classifications
  • Perform cashier functions within the hospital
  • Carry out additional finance-related duties as assigned

Working Conditions

  • Must be willing to work shifts
  • Weekend, public holiday, and night duty may be required
