Role Purpose

The Storeman will administer and control stock, liaise with suppliers and staff, and supervise the store associate, ensuring efficient and compliant operations in a hospitality storeroom, fridge, and freezer.

Key Duties

Place orders and liaise with suppliers upon approval from Project/Assistant Catering Manager.
Verify prices and quantities against order sheets and invoices.
Issue stock and groceries to external departments, weighing food products for production.
Manage stock ratios within budget, maintaining minimum/maximum levels.
Conduct weekly and monthly stocktakes and complete HSE records accurately.
Supervise and ensure cleanliness/security of storeroom, fridge, and freezer.
Check quality, data sheets, and labeling of goods entering the stores area.
Receive and verify stock from suppliers, packing stock post-mealtime service.
Perform quality checks on food products and implement strict controls.
Collaborate with Project/Assistant Catering Manager and Catering Supervisors.

Eligibility Criteria

South African citizen with a valid ID and work authorization.
Matric certificate (Grade 12).
Minimum 2 years of work experience, preferably in hospitality or logistics.
Valid driver’s license (Code 8 or higher).
Clean criminal and credit record, verified via background checks.

Required Skills

Computer literacy and proficiency with numbers/calculations.
Strong planning, organization, and time management skills.
Effective verbal and written communication.
Ability to work autonomously and under pressure.
Delegation and supervisory skills.

Preferences
