What You Will Be Doing Every Day
As a Sales Assistant, your main goal is to make sure customers have a great shopping experience. You will also help keep the store clean, organized, and fully stocked.
Here is what your daily tasks may include:
Helping Customers
- Assist customers in finding products
- Give helpful advice and answer questions
- Handle complaints in a polite and professional way
Managing Stock
- Restock shelves when products run low
- Check for damaged or expired items
- Report low stock or missing items to management
- Help with stock counting and stocktaking
Keeping the Store Neat
- Make sure shelves are clean and tidy
- Arrange products so they look attractive
- Flatten boxes after unpacking stock and place them correctly
Working With Promotions
- Set up promotional displays on time
- Make sure prices and labels are correct
- Remove promotional items when the promotion ends
Handling Payments
- Process payments using cash, cards, or vouchers
- Make sure all items are scanned correctly
- Follow the correct cash handling procedures
