Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will assist with printing, scanning, archiving and managing aerial photographs, maps and other geo-spatial products.

Key duties will include printing orthophoto paper prints using the appropriate printing equipment.

The appointed candidate will print orthophoto images for production using digital files or scanned images.

Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Scanning images from aerial films and hard copies
  • Scanning images for production and archiving purposes
  • Ensuring images are scanned at the required resolution
  • Operating large-format printers
  • Operating scanning and lamination machines
  • Keeping printing and scanning equipment clean
  • Performing weekly equipment calibrations
  • Reporting defective or damaged machines
  • Laminating maps, prints and other products
  • Assisting Artisans when required
  • Retrieving aerial films from storage
  • Returning aerial films to the correct storage areas
  • Retrieving hard-copy aerial images from the archive
  • Storing hard-copy aerial images safely
  • Retrieving photographic and printing consumables
  • Delivering completed maps and aerial photographs to Map Distribution
  • Trimming maps and aerial photographs printed on HP plotters
  • Conducting stock counts of reprographic consumables
  • Maintaining an accurate consumables register
  • Ensuring all work meets the Department’s quality standards
