Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this cleaner vacancy, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Grade 10–12 or equivalent qualification
  • At least one year of proven cleaning experience
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and machinery
  • Must be physically and mentally fit
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, materials, and equipment
  • Understanding of government policies and procedures
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
  • Knowledge of hospital operational frameworks

Advantage:

  • Previous hospital cleaning experience

Preference will also be given to EPWP trainees and administrative interns currently serving or who have served in the department, in line with Personnel Circular Letter 4 of 2017.

Key Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining hygiene and cleanliness within the healthcare facility. Duties include:

  • Cleaning offices, passages, waiting areas, and toilets
  • Mopping, polishing floors, and dusting surfaces
  • Cleaning and polishing furniture, walls, doors, frames, windows, and lockers
  • Cleaning outside areas and removing waste bags
  • Performing general cleaning and housekeeping duties
  • Following healthcare waste management policies
  • Carrying out additional duties assigned by supervisors
