Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have a Grade 10 qualification or equivalent.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will assist artisans and maintenance teams with a variety of technical and general maintenance duties, including:

  • Carrying out minor maintenance and repair work.
  • Assisting with the installation of equipment, new installations and alterations.
  • Ensuring that tools and materials are available when required.
  • Keeping workshops and working areas clean and free from obstructions.
  • Assisting artisans with carpentry, plumbing, painting and general building work.
  • Painting, glazing and skimming surfaces.
  • Assisting with the installation and repair of drywall and ceilings.
  • Spray-painting equipment where required.
  • Assisting with repairs and servicing of infrastructure equipment at health facilities.
  • Controlling and looking after tools and materials.
  • Providing occasional support to carpentry, plumbing, painting and building departments.
  • Taking responsibility for assigned job cards.
  • Assisting the Artisan Foreman or Artisan with allocated duties.
