Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have an NQF Level 3 qualification, which is equivalent to a Grade 10 certificate.
No previous work experience is required for this post, making it suitable for candidates who want to enter the public service and gain practical work experience in agricultural infrastructure support.

Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidates will provide manual labour support during the construction and maintenance of agricultural infrastructure projects.
Key duties include:
- Preparing access roads and construction sites
- Handling tools, construction materials and equipment
- Assisting with welding-related tasks where required
- Handling and planting posts
- Placing and straining fence cladding
- Assisting with the construction of concrete and other structures
- Cutting grass and clearing vegetation around offices and camps
- Spraying herbicides to control vegetation growth
- Cleaning storage facilities, premises and gardens
- Assisting with yard organisation and general maintenance
- Safekeeping, cleaning and maintaining hand tools, camping facilities, vehicles and machines
- Assisting with repairs and emergency breakdowns, including after-hours repairs
- Loading and offloading construction materials, machinery and vehicles
- Helping with correct weight distribution and safe cargo securing
- Assisting with stocktaking and record keeping of materials
- Reporting the movement of hand tools and equipment in storage
- Ensuring compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Rehabilitating terrain after construction work has been completed
