Job Details
Cashbuild, South Africa’s largest retailer of building materials and associated products, is hiring Cashiers across its stores nationwide. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are customer-focused, accurate, and reliable to be part of a company that values integrity and service excellence.

Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric, or a minimum of 1 year’s cashier/retail work experience.
- Ability to communicate in English and the dominant local language.
- Ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
- Strong administrative skills.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Ability to work under pressure.
Duties
Cash Handling
- Balance all cash, floats, and petty cash with no shortages or overages.
- Accurately capture goods and payments at the Point of Sale (POS) Terminal.
- Perform accurate cash-ups at the end of each shift.
- Safely deposit all daily takings into the Drop Safe/Vault.
- Process transactions for deliveries, quotes, and inter-store payments correctly.
Administration
- Sign, compile, and file all documentation related to the cashier function.
Customer Service
- Provide fast, friendly, and efficient service to all customers.
- Direct customers to the right staff member for assistance.
- Maintain professional appearance and comply with the company’s dress code.
Safety & Security
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety (OHSA).
- Maintain security procedures at till points, including password control and safe cash handling.
- Report discrepancies to the Store Manager.
