About the Afrimat Mechanical Fitting Apprenticeship 2026
Afrimat Mining Services is offering an exciting Mechanical Fitting Apprenticeship opportunity for aspiring artisans who wish to gain practical and theoretical training in the mechanical engineering field. The programme will be based in Henley-on-Klip, Gauteng, and is designed to provide learners with structured workplace exposure combined with formal learning sessions through an accredited training provider.
Location: Henley-on-Klip
During the apprenticeship programme, successful candidates will be expected to participate in both theoretical and practical training activities while complying with company standards and workplace procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Attend all scheduled theoretical and practical training sessions with the approved training institution
- Follow company procedures, workplace regulations, and operational policies at all times
- Participate in workplace assessments and evaluations required for the completion of the apprenticeship
- Perform occupationally related practical tasks as part of the structured workplace learning programme
- Dedicate full attention and commitment to all training activities provided during the apprenticeship period
- Work closely with supervisors and comply with all lawful instructions issued within the workplace
- Take part in practical workplace experience activities required by the learnership programme.
Apprenticeship Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Grade 12/Matric certificate
- Valid N1 to N3 Certificate including:
- Engineering Mathematics
- Engineering Science
- Engineering Drawing
- Fitting and Machining Trade Theory
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
- Honest, responsible, and dependable character
- Willingness to work at a remote mining operation
- Ability to adapt to a multicultural working environment
- Must be medically fit according to the Mine Health and Safety Act and company medical standards.
