About the Internship
Overberg Water Board, a Government Business Enterprise operating three water treatment schemes and 22 reservoirs, seeks SCM Interns in Somerset West to learn procurement processes. Ideal for unemployed graduates with NQF 6/7 in Supply Chain Management or Logistics, this 24-month internship offers hands-on experience in South Africa’s water sector.
Job Purpose
The internship addresses 45.5% youth unemployment by providing practical SCM training, supporting Overberg Water’s mission to ensure sustainable water services across the Overberg region.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile bids/quotations per SCM policies and legislation.
- Administer contracts and maintain the contract register.
- Prepare documentation for tender/quotation briefing sessions.
- Process purchase requisitions and create purchase orders.
- File SCM documents for security and accessibility.
- Publish bids and awards on National Treasury E-Tender Portal and OWB website.
- Advertise and close tenders per SCM policy and legislation.
- Prepare procurement reports for RFQs/RFPs.

Eligibility Criteria
