Job Purpose
As a General Assistant at BUCO Kenton-On-Sea, you will support store operations by assisting customers and drivers with loading and offloading, maintaining organized stock, and ensuring a clean and safe environment. This permanent role, with a market-related salary of approximately R5,000–R7,000 per month, contributes to efficient customer service and stock management in a dynamic retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare customer and driver orders accurately and assist with loading and offloading vehicles.
- Provide prompt and efficient assistance to customers and suppliers during vehicle loading/offloading.
- Ensure yard stock items are neatly packed and easily accessible.
- Maintain clean vehicles and ensure safe loading practices.
- Assist customers and suppliers with workshop/joinery queries.
- Perform wash bay activities accurately to keep vehicles clean.
- Keep store shelves, boards, and stock items neatly packed and accessible for customers.
- Uphold and promote BUCO’s values and culture of customer service and teamwork.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12/Matric certificate.
- Product knowledge of building materials, hardware, or timber (advantageous).
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (Afrikaans is an advantage).
- Physical fitness to handle manual tasks like lifting and loading.
