Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- A Grade 12 certificate or an equivalent qualification at NQF Level 4.
- A qualification recognised by the South African Qualifications Authority.

Key Responsibilities
The appointed Administration Clerk: Legal will provide legal and administrative support within the court environment.
Main duties will include:
Conducting legal research
The successful candidate will conduct legal research for the Regional Court President or Chief Magistrate whenever required.
This may involve finding relevant legal information, preparing supporting material and assisting with research-related administrative tasks.
Compiling and reconciling statistics
The Administration Clerk will be responsible for collecting, compiling and submitting court-related statistics to the Monitoring and Evaluation Unit.
The candidate will also reconcile manual records with electronic statistics to ensure that the information is accurate and complete.
Supporting audit readiness
The successful applicant will assist the office in preparing for audits by ensuring that records, statistics and supporting documents are properly maintained.
The role will also involve data purification, which includes identifying and correcting incomplete, duplicated or inaccurate information.
Assisting with case-flow management
The Administration Clerk will support case-flow management processes to help ensure that court matters are recorded, monitored and handled efficiently.
Supporting the Regional Court Registrar
The successful candidate will provide administrative assistance to the Regional Court Registrar and other relevant officials.
Assisting members of the public
The role involves helping members of the public with general enquiries and directing them to the appropriate court services or officials.
Applicants should therefore be professional, patient and able to communicate clearly.
Providing general administrative support
The appointed candidate will perform additional administrative duties when requested by the Court Manager or Supervisor.
These duties may include preparing documents, taking minutes, filing information, compiling reports and maintaining office records.
Pre-Entry Practical Assessment
All shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a pre-entry practical exercise.
The assessment will be used to determine whether candidates meet the technical and general requirements of the position. Applicants should therefore be prepared to demonstrate their administrative, communication, computer and problem-solving skills.
