Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have an ABET Level 4, Grade 9 or Grade 10 qualification.

Groundsman Duties and Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining the grounds and outdoor areas allocated to the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Mowing developed lawn areas and veld grass
- Watering plants correctly and preventing damage caused by improper watering
- Keeping flower beds and shrub beds free from weeds
- Cultivating and maintaining flower and shrub beds
- Pruning dead flower heads and unwanted plant growth
- Fertilising lawns and plant beds
- Planting new mother-stock plant material
- Assisting with plant propagation activities
- Sweeping and raking hard surfaces in the allocated area
- Maintaining good conduct while performing duties
- Cleaning restrooms allocated to the Department of Public Works according to the approved schedule
