Job Purpose
The successful candidate will help ensure that the Premier fleet remains available, roadworthy, cost-effective, and operational at all times. The role supports transport operations by assisting with vehicle inspections, repairs, refuelling, breakdown responses, and general fleet maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Report all vehicle defects to the Transport Technical Assistant Coordinator (TAC).
- Ensure workshop bays and storerooms are clean and organized before leaving the premises.
- Deliver and collect vehicles from suppliers and service providers.
- Report vehicle accidents and damages to TAC.
- Remove completed pre-trip and post-trip inspection documents from trucks and file them appropriately.
- Assist with vehicle breakdowns, including after-hours support when required.
- Ensure all fleet vehicles are refuelled daily.
- Support the Transport Technical Assistant with minor vehicle repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Help maintain fleet readiness and operational efficiency.
Minimum Requirements
Educational Qualifications
- Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification.
Driver’s Licence
- Valid Code C1 driver’s licence required.
- EC1 licence will be advantageous.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years’ fleet-related experience.
- Technical or mechanical background will be advantageous.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication skills.
- Numerical and problem-solving ability.
- Planning and organizational skills.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Strong reporting and record-keeping skills.
