What Does a Data Capturer / Driver Do?
This role combines two important responsibilities: handling health data and transporting staff or equipment to various sites.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Successful applicants will be expected to perform the following tasks:
Data Capturing and Reporting
- Capture, record, and report all data collected from TB screening and testing activities
- Ensure that all information is accurately recorded from both community and facility-based services
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports for monitoring and evaluation purposes
- Compile reports highlighting progress, challenges, and achievements
- Assist with data verification and correction when needed
- Ensure data is always up to date and properly stored
Data Quality and Administration
- Conduct regular data cleaning and verification exercises (monthly and quarterly)
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of all records
- Perform filing and general administrative duties
- Carry out additional tasks as assigned by supervisors
Health Facility and Community Support
- Support TB screening activities in health facilities and communities
- Assist in identifying patients who require follow-up or referral
- Share system-generated reports with relevant healthcare staff
- Help ensure patient tracking and referral processes are properly followed
Driving and Transport Duties
- Drive to identified health facilities and community outreach sites
- Prepare the vehicle before daily field activities
- Maintain an accurate vehicle logbook
- Ensure compliance with all road and driving regulations
- Transport staff or equipment safely as required
Minimum Requirements for the Position
To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following requirements:
Education
- Grade 12 (Matric) certificate
Work Experience
- At least 2 years’ experience in data capturing and reporting
- At least 2 years’ driving experience
- Experience working with TB and HIV data will be an advantage
Technical Skills
Candidates should have:
- Knowledge of health data systems such as TIER.net and/or DHIS (advantageous)
- Good understanding of Microsoft Office packages
- Strong data management and reporting skills
Communication Skills
Applicants must be able to:
- Communicate clearly in English (spoken and written)
- Work well with healthcare teams and facility staff
- Maintain good interpersonal relationships
Driving Requirements
- Valid South African Code 10 driver’s license with PDP
