Daimler Truck SMH Diesel Mechanic Apprenticeship 2026: Candidates with Grade 12 Certificate Encouraged to Register
About Daimler Truck
Daimler Truck Southern Africa Ltd (DTSA) officially adopted its new name on 3 May 2022, replacing the former Daimler Trucks & Buses Southern Africa (Pty) Ltd (DTBSA). This renaming reflects a strategic move to fully align the local business structure with its parent company, Daimler Truck AG—the world’s largest manufacturer of trucks and buses. Despite the change in name, DTSA continues to operate with the same business scope, objectives, and comprehensive range of products and services that it has consistently offered across the Southern African region.
The transition to Daimler Truck Southern Africa Ltd marks a significant chapter in the company’s evolution. Following the global spin-off of Daimler Truck AG from the Mercedes-Benz Group in December 2021, and its swift ascension to the prestigious DAX stock index in Germany, DTSA also made key local advancements. Among them was the establishment of Daimler Truck Financial Services South Africa (DTFS), enhancing its ability to support customers through tailored financial mobility solutions. This period of transformation underscores DTSA’s commitment to growth, innovation, and strong alignment with its global brand while reinforcing its independence and leadership in the commercial vehicle industry within Southern Africa.
