Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum Grade 10 qualification or equivalent
- Ability to read and write
- Willingness to work shifts
- Good communication and customer care skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Basic knowledge of laundry services and sewing will be an added advantage
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
- Collecting soiled linen from hospital wards
- Sorting, counting, sluicing, recording, and packing linen into laundry bags
- Receiving clean linen from Dunswart Laundry, counting and recording stock
- Packing linen neatly on shelves and maintaining linen rooms in wards
- Distributing clean linen to various hospital departments
- Ensuring adequate linen stock levels are maintained at all times
- Mending torn linen where required
- Conducting linen inventory twice annually
- Performing all laundry-related tasks as delegated by the Supervisor
