Minimum Qualifications Needed
To qualify for this position, you must have:
- Essential Qualification: Diploma (NQF Level 6).
- Preferred Qualification: Higher Certificate in Banking Services (NQF 5).
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in:
- Retail or banking client service.
- Cash handling and first-line problem resolution.
- Foreign exchange experience will be a big advantage.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
As a Nedbank Service Consultant, your daily tasks will include:
1. Client Engagement
- Helping clients use digital banking services like mobile apps and online platforms.
- Assisting with issues such as login problems or downloading apps.
- Helping clients buy prepaid services like airtime and data online.
- Guiding clients on how to get statements, cards, and other important documents using self-service areas.
- Building strong, long-term relationships with clients by keeping them informed and supported.
- Discovering clients’ financial needs and connecting them to the right solutions.
- Referring potential sales leads to relevant departments for action.
- Meeting and greeting clients while verifying documents and guiding them where needed.
2. Cash Handling and Business Operations
- Accepting and processing cash transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, and transfers.
- Balancing cash at the end of each shift and securing branch stock like bank cards.
- Loading and balancing ATMs, replenishing consumables, and performing first-line device maintenance.
- Preparing and handling inter-bank transfer documents according to policy.
- Managing queues and assisting clients with special needs to ensure smooth service.
- Following Nedbank procedures to minimize cash losses and report discrepancies.
3. Risk and Compliance
- Preventing fraud by strictly following Nedbank’s security rules and policies.
- Controlling counter limits and drop safes according to company guidelines.
- Ensuring all client transactions are secure and compliant with regulations.

- Knowledge of Forex products and foreign exchange transactions.
